  • Web-based Customer Service Center Company – working with founder (now residing in New Zealand) to build a new company in India to serve domestic needs for outsourced sales and customer support services. Also working with local general manager in India to develop company management structures, business processes, including marketing, sales, and service delivery systems.
  • Retail – Interior Design and Furnishings – worked with this start up store. Helped owner develop a business plan and financial model for successful loan application. Focused on minimizing cash requirements through consigned inventory strategy. 
  • Engineering Services Company – a niche opto-electronic engineering services firm. Working via Skype video-conference with the two founders for over two years. First phase focused on strategic review of company with ongoing work to focus on improving marketing and sales results. As we approach beginning of third year of work, sales have more than doubled requiring adding more outsourced engineering resources and technology partnerships to sustain the demands of their customers in quite diverse markets and technologies. Current focus points are maintaining the marketing and sales momentum, improving the selection and management of engineering resources, and getting the financial controls in better working order.
  • Web-based Service Company – working with founder of this five year old company to focus service development work and vendor management. Sales rose more than 50% while Net Profit improved from 2% to 18% over one year. Helped founder learn to be more comfortable and effective in marketing and sales roles instead of technology focus. New marketing and sales work beginning to gain traction. Hold quarterly business review sessions with management and monthly virtual “stand-up” project management sessions.
  • Pharmaceutical Services Company – guided President of this division through a year long divestiture process. Helped him stabilize technical and professional staff who were frightened by the divestiture process. Worked with President to focus his and the rest of the organization’s energies on serving customers while the troubling divestiture went forward. Company is now under new ownership.
  • CPA Firm – worked with Principal to analyze this five year old firm’s customer base, product lines, pricing structure and marketing strategies. Pared down the service offerings, raised prices, pruned customer list, refocused marketing efforts. Sales rose 55% with almost 30% improvement in Net Profits. Most recently worked with Principal to decide to sell the practice and execute this decision. Firm has now been successfully sold.
  • Fitness and Nutrition Company – working with start up entrepreneur to develop budget and plans to launch first studio space. Helping founder learn and implement ongoing management system to track sales pipeline and understand how the financial model is working.
  • Book Publisher – working with start-up firm to build niche in the world of fiction.
  • Custom Furniture Manufacturer – working with founder to reposition the firm at the high end of the market. This will leverage the proven design and production values. Strategy is focused on penetrating new sales channels.
  • Lawyer – focused attention of this lawyer on simplifying service offerings, improved marketing, especially to channel partners in insurance and financial  planning. Examined financial results and this lead to an education campaign to improve the lawyer’s skills in financial management of the practice. Recently worked through the his separation from a partnership and the launch of a solo practice. Profitable from the launch and improving prospects.
  • Church non-profit – lead leadership council to solve structural problems among five programs, establish short-term objectives, budgets, and metrics. Ongoing support for leadership development.
  • Oil  & gas development company – worked with CEO to develop business plan and deal presentation package to raise $20 million in financing from varied equity sources.
  • Furniture company – led senior managers through organizational assessment and strategic planning. Resulted in launch of program to source components from South American sources and refocusing of domestic manufacturing on shorter lead times to market.
  • Educational Software – work with CEO to refocus marketing efforts. This lead to outsourcing some functions and further work to recruit a VP Business Development. Established product development road map and tactics to drive new product development. After a six month hiatus this entrepreneur has renewed coaching relationship. Now working on new business concepts, moving towards business plan and launch.
